Dear Parents and Guardians,

It’s a new beginning and a fresh, bright school year! We are more excited than ever to welcome your children back to school.

Our Food & Nutrition team has been busy refining many of the favorite foods our students have come to know and love, while also creating delicious new chef-inspired meals that we can’t wait for them to try.

We know families have many decisions to make each day, and we are happy to make one of them a little easier. Let us provide breakfast and lunch for your children throughout the school year.

There are many advantages to participating in the school meal program:

SAVE MONEY

Jim Thorpe Area School District is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the current school year. This means that all JTASD students are eligible to receive FREE breakfast and FREE lunch at school. There is no cost to families, no meal application to complete, and no additional action required. Your child can simply enjoy breakfast and lunch at school each day.

SAVE TIME

Make mornings a little easier! There is no need to rush to prepare breakfast and pack a lunch before school.

MORE VARIETY

Students can choose from multiple meal options on the serving line each day, giving them the opportunity to select foods they enjoy.

BALANCED NUTRITION

School meals are designed to provide nutritious, well-balanced choices and are prepared in accordance with USDA nutrition guidelines.

We are ready for the best year yet! Together, we can help ensure that every child has access to nutritious meals that support their health, well-being, and success in the classroom.

Our simple mission continues to guide everything we do: Caring for People. Serving Great Food.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I can be reached by email at rebecca.farina@jtasd.org or by phone at 570-325-5144.
